Katie Walker, CEO & Founder
Katie has over 15 years of experience teaching math, from 5th grade through AP Calculus. She earned her master’s degree from Harvard and has dedicated her career to helping students who learn differently. With training in dyscalculia and extensive experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, and math anxiety, Katie specializes in turning frustration into confidence and helping students see themselves as capable learners.
She founded Dyscalculia Tutoring to provide the individualized support that many students need but rarely find. Using multisensory strategies and a strengths-based approach, Katie helps students truly understand math, not just memorize it. Her goal is to give every student the chance to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and experience success.

Alexis Swanson, COO
Alexis is the Chief Operating Officer and Integrator at Dyscalculia Tutoring, where she ensures smooth systems, strong communication, and a culture of accountability across the team. With a passion for personal development, process improvement, and goal setting, she brings clarity and organization to every aspect of the company’s operations. Her leadership style combines strategy with heart, keeping both the team and families supported.
Alexis and her husband, Amos, have been married for over sixteen years and are raising seven wonderful children, ages two through fifteen. Outside of work, she loves reading, planning, and helping others reach their goals. Alexis is deeply committed to the mission of Dyscalculia Tutoring and is proud to help change the lives of the students and families they serve.

Claudia S-N.
Claudia specializes in algebra and geometry but enjoys teaching students at all levels. She has years of experience tutoring in Math Reinforcement programs and has also supported students in special education and ESOL settings, giving her a strong background in adapting instruction for diverse learners. Her teaching combines subject expertise with patience and creativity to meet students exactly where they are.
She emphasizes confidence, resilience, and problem-solving in her sessions. By finding engaging ways to explain concepts and celebrating progress, Claudia helps students strengthen their skills while developing a positive and lasting relationship with math.

Heide P.
Heide has more than 30 years of experience teaching and tutoring students from kindergarten through college. With roots in Montessori education and recent experience in an IB middle school, she blends hands-on, student-centered methods with evidence-based strategies for dyscalculia. She holds certifications in Dyscalculia Tutoring as well as modules in Fractions, Decimals & Percents, Algebra, and Geometry, equipping her to support learners across levels.
Her teaching emphasizes the why behind math, not just the steps. By developing number sense and mathematical thinking, Heide helps students strengthen understanding and build confidence. She is passionate about making math meaningful and accessible for every learner.

John T.
John has been a high school special education math teacher for the past 18 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Education, bringing both deep content knowledge and specialized teaching expertise to his students. His experience in special education has given him a strong understanding of how to adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs, ensuring that every student feels supported and capable.
John’s favorite part of teaching is seeing the “light bulb moment” when a concept finally clicks. His goal is to build confidence and create a safe, encouraging environment where students can enjoy learning and discover their own potential. He believes that with the right support, every student can succeed in math.

Patience C.
Patience is a math teacher with over ten years of experience helping students succeed. She holds a master’s degree in elementary instruction and has taught 3rd–6th grade, in addition to writing math curriculum for grades K–6. In the classroom, she specialized in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, limited English proficiency, hearing loss, autism, and ADHD. Her belief that every student can master mathematics with the right tools and teacher guides all of her work.
Her approach begins with visuals to build deep understanding before introducing more complex strategies. This helps students not only learn the steps to solving problems but also understand why those steps work. Patience is passionate about making math accessible and meaningful, empowering students to feel capable and confident. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading and painting with her 7-year-old stepson.

Rachel B.
Rachel is a licensed Massachusetts educator for grades 1–8 with a dyscalculia specialist certification from EduCalc Learning. She has taught 4th–7th grade math as both an elementary and middle school teacher and holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and mathematics from Assumption College. Rachel is currently pursuing her master’s degree in special education at Bridgewater State University, further deepening her expertise in supporting diverse learners.
She brings warmth and creativity to every session, making math approachable and engaging. Rachel’s focus is on strengthening number sense, developing problem-solving skills, and helping students grow the confidence to take on new challenges.

Stacy H.
I have accumulated 15 years of dedicated teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Literacy, both from SUNY Potsdam. My teaching background spans various grade levels, including 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades, along with specialized instruction in RTI Reading and Math. A notable achievement in my career was helping to spearhead the RTI Math program at my previous charter school, which was designed to support students who were struggling with mathematics. Outside of my professional life, I cherish spending time with my husband and our two children. My personal interests are diverse and include basketball, softball, golf, fishing, puzzles, and participating in 5K races.

Susan A.
Susan has over 12 years of experience in education and is a Trained Educational Clinician with expertise in dyscalculia, ADHD, and executive functioning. She holds a B.Ed. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M (Summa Cum Laude) and an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction in Math Education from the University of Texas (4.0 GPA). She has also completed advanced training in multisensory math, educational therapy, and dyscalculia tutoring, along with certification in ADHD and executive functioning coaching.
Susan’s approach blends rigorous preparation with warmth and encouragement. She uses multisensory, personalized strategies to turn confusion into clarity and helps students achieve the “aha” moments that transform how they view themselves as learners.
